KARACHI, March 24: Having won three races on the trot, three-year-old bay colt Swell Victory is tipped to stretch his winning run when he appears in the supporting and fourth race of the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Swell Victory has performed exceptionally in the last three outings under rider M. Yousuf and on present form look set to go all out for another triumph.

Owned by Irfan Mehdi and trained by M. Hanif, the speedy colt, which is also our day’s best, is drawn in a field of eight horses in class V div II and class VI to be run over five furlongs. Successive wins has helped him earn back-to-back promotions.

Swell Victory should have to overcome challenger fillies Rija and Disappointing Act for a repeat performance.

Colt Famous, which became favourite and delivered the goods in the last outing after Sherzad was not on job, is likely to land The Pakistan Day Cup should he be backed by connection in the next race.

The class VII div III and IV combined race has 14 acceptors and if all goes well Famous should returned with flying colours.

Those who come in the reckoning for places are filly National Queen and chestnut horse Topee.

Two horses are on chance in the sixth and concluding race. They are colt Janab Sahab and dark bay horse Golden Touch. Both were placed second in their last outings.

Janab Sahab, a four-year-old bay colt, is our fancy and likely to make amends for the loss.Golden Touch and Godolphin should follow Janab Sahab for places on board.

At the outset, if backed by connection, dark bay colt Spirit, should pick up spoils in the opener.

Either of the two stable mates — Tripple Star or Dream Prince — trained by Talib Hussain, should shine in the next race.

Colt Rytham should complete hat-trick if given a fair run in the third race.

A card of six races including a cup has been drawn for the day. The first race starts at 1.30pm.
