Islamabad to host SAF swimming

LAHORE, Dec 4: The ninth SAF Games swimming championship will be held at the Pakistan Sports Complex pool, Islamabad from March 30 to April 6 next year.

This was decided at a meeting of the Pakistan Swimming Federation general council meeting held recently.

Competition for men will be organised from March 30 to April 3 whereas the women’s events are scheduled to be held from April 4 to 6.

The council also approved the activity programme of the federation for 2003.

The 45th national seniors championship and national water polo championship 2003 for men has been allotted to Navy to be organised at Karachi. The dates will be decided later.

The 11th national Under-15 and 18 swimming championships allocated to the NWFP and will be held at Peshawar in July 2003.

The 5th and the 6th national women’s Open championships will be held in 2003. Army will organise the 5th edition in Islamabad while Wapda will hold the 6th in Lahore.

The 6th national women’s Age Group championship has been allocated to the Sindh and it will be held at Karachi.
