JAC continues strike

Published December 5, 2002

LAHORE, Dec 4: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Wednesday continued their protest against the constitution of boards of governors in educational institutions and hospitals and the Model University Ordinance.

They boycotted the classes after 10:30am and took out rallies from MAO College, Shalamar College, Dyal Singh College, Islamia College Railway Road, Islamia College Civil Lines and FC College.

JAC leaders Nazim Hasnain, Dr Yasmin Rashid and Pro Dr Haris Rashid said the government had presented them a gift in the form of their sacking on Eidul Fitr for which it should be ashamed of.

They also expressed their gratitude to the PPP, the MMA and the PML-N for supporting them. — Reporter
