ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Tuesday said the recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security should not be considered against any country.

Talking to media representatives outside the Parliament House, she said, “We have to uphold the interests of our country. We want good relations with every one on parity”.

She said the recommendations would ensure sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. These will give a message of unity among the nation to the world on all national and international issues, she added.

“We are a responsible sovereign nation and want mutual relationship with other nations on equality,” she said.

The foreign minister said for the first time Parliament would decide new rules of engagement and an independent foreign policy to protect the interests and the sovereignty of the country.
