KARACHI, Dec 4: The provincial Chief Secretary, K. B. Rind, has constituted a five-member committee to look into the case of 534 KWSB employees seeking re-employment in the institution.

The committee, comprising secretaries of Local Government and Law departments, Managing Director of the KWSB, DCO Karachi and a representative of Finance Department would consider legal and other aspects pertaining to the case and would also suggest a legal line of action with regard to the ex-employees’ absorption in different departments of the local government.

The meeting also reviewed the issues of eight dialysis machines lying idle at the Lyari General Hospital and the persisting water shortage in Lyari Town.

The meeting was told by the concerned officials that a water connection would be provided to the hospital within 10-15 days so as to enable the hospital management utilize the dialysis machines.—PPI
