ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Sugar Advisory Board was informed by the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) here on Monday that an estimated 4.735 million tons of sugar will be produced in the 2011-12 crushing season and a carry over stock of 1.5 million ton would make a total of 5.2 million tons of sugar in the country.

The meeting, chaired by the Additional Secretary Ministry of Industries, was attended by TCP chairman, Punjab’s food secretary, representatives of cane commissioners of Punjab, Sindh and KP, officials of SBP, members of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association.—APP
