LAHORE, Dec 3: Guard Filter won the Ramazan Cup polo tournament defeating Nee Punhal 7 1/2-5 in the final, with a remarkable performance by Hissam Ali Hyder who struck five goals, including a hat trick, at the Lahore Polo Club ground Tuesday.

Hissam displayed high class polo scoring four goals before the second chukker ended, which gave Guard Filter with half a goal handicap, a convincing 6 1/2-1 lead.

 Umar Sadik who scored the remaining two goals for the winners, struck a goal each in the first and the second chukker. For the losers, Captain Malik scored a goal.

In the third chukker Nee Punhal recovered themselves, scoring four goals before the end of the final chukker. But their efforts were in vain as Hissam netted his fifth goal in the last minutes of the third chukker making it 7 1/2-5.

The top-scorer for the losers, Faaiz Rahim Khan, had a share of three goals while Arslan Najib struck a goal in the final chukker.

Earlier, Musa Industries took third position beating Texcon 10-5 1/2.

Shah Shymyl Alam, scored four goals while Hassan Raza Gillani three. Shah Qublai Alam contributed two and Aurangzeb Monoo a goal.

The losing side was playing with a handicap of 2 1/2 goals and scored three in the match including two by Feroze Gulzar and the remaining one by Col. Talha.
