LAHORE, March 11: The National Highways and Motorways Police seized a stolen car near the Kala Shah Kaku Inter-change and took the thief into custody on Sunday.

Senior Patrolling Officer Qaiser Iqbal told Dawn that he and his subordinate PO Tariq Mehmood stopped a car (LZK-425) after receiving wireless message from Lahore police that the car had been lifted from Johar Town.

He said the car was seized and the suspect identified as Shahzad Masih of Sheikhupura was taken into custody. He said the car was owned by Gohar Sarfraz.

The suspect told the police that he had to hand over the car to a person after crossing the Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza.
