2 cops held for helping accused escape

LAHORE, Nov 18: Two policemen were arrested on Sunday allegedly for helping an accused to escape from their custody on district court premises on Saturday.

ASI Mohammad Ali and footconstable Yousuf had taken the accused, Shahzad Ali, to the courts in connection with a case.

The policemen reported to their senior hierarchy that the accused escaped on their return from the courts.

Shahzad was arrested by Misri Shah police for allegedly injuring some people of his rival group.

A case has been registered against the policemen.
