QUETTA, March 1: A convoy of the Frontier Corps came under attack in Pir Suri area of Dera Bugti on Thursday.

The FC personnel fired back and in the ensuing clash three attackers were killed. Two FC men were injured and they were taken to Quetta by helicopter.

An FC spokesman said the assailants who were killed had also been involved in an earlier attack on an FC convoy in Sangsilla area on Feb 18. Some FC men were killed and injured in the attack. The spokesman said that a large quantity of weapons and explosive material was found in the area.

Meanwhile, train service between Quetta and Sibi was suspended after saboteurs blew up a portion of the main railway track in Sariab area on Thursday night.

After the blast, Jaffar Express coming from Rawalpindi was stopped at Sariab and other trains at different stations.

Railways officials said the track would be repaired by Friday morning.
