SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the PPP-led government is making efforts to form a balanced foreign policy and a parliamentary committee is already working on it.

The draft of the policy will be presented for debate and after the passage it will be implemented, she said while addressing a public meeting on Sunday.

She said Pakistan wants to develop cordial relations with all its neighboring countries for peace and trade in the region.

Dr Firdous said the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project will be accomplished without any foreign pressure for the larger national interests, adding that completion of the project will help resolve problems faced by the people.

The information minister said the PPP leadership was making adequate efforts for resolving the Balochistan issue peacefully aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the area.

Dr Firdous said that a strong political system had been introduced in the country and that Senate elections will be held on scheduled time.
