KARACHI, Dec 2: Informal contacts between Peoples Party Parliamentarians and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, apparently aimed at preventing the political situation in the province from getting bad to worse, are continuing.

Nisar Khuhro of the PPP and Dr Farooq Sattar of the MQM informally exchanged views when they met at an iftar dinner, hosted by Aurat Foundation, for the newly elected members of the parliament.

Mr Khuhro said that during the conversation, he had emphasized that when the general public perception was in favour of forgetting the past and starting a fresh chapter of cooperative relationship for the betterment of the people of Sindh, there was no point in remaining bogged down in the past.

“Let us get together and start afresh”, Mr Khuhro claimed to have told Dr Farooq Sattar. He did not give details of the conversation.

Dr Farooq Sattar was not available to deny or confirm Nisar Khuhro’s claim or give his side of the story. Attempts to reach him on his cell phone failed as he was busy in meetings.
