KARACHI: 7 vehicles taken away in city

KARACHI, Nov 18: Seven vehicles — five cars and two motorcycles — were stolen in the city on Sunday, the police said.

The cars were stolen in Saddar, Civil Lines, Soldier Bazaar, Haidery Market, and Gulshan-i-Iqbal. The motorcycles were stolen in Preedy and PIB Colony.

The police also claimed on Sunday to have recovered five vehicles in the city.

FALLS TO DEATH: A young labourer died when he fell from the roof of a house in Federal B-Area on Sunday.

The police said that Shahzad, aged 25, was working on the roof of a house in Dastagir Colony when he fell down on the ground. He was rushed to the JPMC where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Addict burnt: Charred body of a drug addict was found on a garbage dump near the Coast Guards crossing in Zaman Town on Sunday, APP adds.

The unidentified dead addict used to frequent the garbage dump to smoke heroin and charas and he was burnt to death when the garbage was set on fire, the police said. The body appeared to be a few days old. It had been sent to a hospital for post-mortem.
