ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to launch an operation against a banned militant organisation active in Balochistan, DawnNews reported on Saturday.
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was in Islamabad this week to attend a regional summit had pressed the Pakistani authorities to take action against Jundullah, sources told DawnNews.
Islamabad assured the visiting president that Pakistan would not allow any group to use its territory to launch terrorism against neighbouring countries.
Authorities also assured Iran that Pakistan would not allow the United States to open its consulate in Quetta.
The Iranian leader had accused the US for backing the militant group in Pakistan with the aim of disrupting the Pakistan-Iran relations.
