LAHORE, Dec 1: PML-Q President Mian Muhammad Azhar says supremacy of parliament is imperative for the solution to people’s problems and it will be unfortunate if political parties fail to do so.
In a statement here on Sunday, he said after the formation of the government time had come for the enforcement of the PML manifesto.
Azhar said urgent steps should be taken to control lawlessness, unemployment and price hike.
Once the fruits of democracy started trickling down to the common man, nobody would ever dare to blackmail the ruling party or cause any damage to the system.
The PML-Q president only such parties should be given parliamentary representation that adhered to democratic principles and had views similar to that of his party.
As for the PPP, he alleged, it was playing a double game to achieve its targets. However, he believed that the PPP would not succeed in its designs.
Azhar said he would soon call a meeting of important party leaders to prepare recommendations in the light of which the government could formulate its policies.
“We are not ready to give the government’s remote control to the PPP. The PML-Q has many experienced and capable parliamentarians who may be benefited from.”
