LHC orders action against protesting doctors

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday issued an order against the protesting doctors for violating the directives of the Supreme Court and asked the the Punjab government to submit its report by 22nd February.

An application was filed in the LHC on Wednesday by Judicial Activism Penal against Young Doctors Association (YDA) for observing strike over suspension of Punjab Institute of cardiology's senior doctors.

The petition had contended that the Supreme Court while taking a suo motu notice of deaths in Lahore had directed doctors not to observe strike, but the doctors violated the orders which was tantamount to contempt of court.

During the court proceedings here today, Justice Omer Ata Bandial said that if the apex court had issued a directive to the doctors to not observe strike then it should have been followed.

Every one should know about the repercussions of not following the court's orders, he added.

The judge warned that the concerned authorites would take legal action against the docotrs if they continued with thier strike.—DawnNews

Does the constitution of Pakistan gives its citizen the right of expressing their grievances and the system called Democracy (not practiced in Pakistan) allows the people to protest against victimization. What action LHC has taken against those police and administrative officers who has not registered (despite court orders) a case against ex-chief minister Dost Mohammad Khosa for allegedly killing his wife?

Amazing situation in my beloved country Doctors are Fighting for Few peoples and Daily millions of people loss the hope of Life due to their srike. Doctors are fighting for Money and innocents people fall in diseases are fighting for life. Results are orders of court should Be followed.

There is absolutely no justification of the doctors to go on a strike. They can register their protest by putting on black armbands, or hold a press conference or write in papers. Medical service should be essential service like police and military. Government should give a deadline to all the medical staff to come on duty within 8 hours otherwise their employments should be terminated. There are hundreds of doctors who would be very glad to take their positions.
