KARACHI, Dec 1: Jamaat-i-Islami deputy chief Prof Ghafoor Ahmed has said instead of demanding from the government to eliminate “no-go” areas in the city the Muttahida Qaumi Movement should submit a list of demands for solution of the basic problems of the people, because its voters want an end to unemployment and price spiral.

Speaking at an Iftar party in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Sunday, he said the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal would not allow any ethnic party to make the people hostage in the areas from where its candidates had been returned to the assemblies.

He criticized the postponement of the inaugural session of the Sindh Assembly.

MMA leader Liaquat Baloch, the chairman of the Al-Khidmat Foundation, visited the Al-Khidmat Khwateen Trust office in PECHS where he was presented a cheque for Rs400,000 for distribution among the deserving.
