MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 11: Pro-independence parties and groups organised rallies, public meetings and seminars on Saturday to pay homage to Maqbool Butt, the pioneer of armed struggle in Indian-held Kashmir, on the occasion of his 28th death anniversary.

Speakers at the rallies and seminars organised by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) factions, National Liberation Front (NLF), National Students Federation (NSF), Kashmir National Party (KNP) and other pro-independence groups paid rich tributes to Mr Butt for his heroic role in Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom. — Staff Correspondent
