PESHAWAR, Feb 10: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F leader and MPA Mufti Kifayatullah has denied his involvement in a murder committed in Mansehra and described it an attempt to drive him out of politics.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, the JUI leader blamed the Mansehra district administration for implicating him in what he described a fake murder case and warned to move court against the officials concerned for defaming him.

“I was an arbitrator between two groups belonging to Deobandi and Barelvi sects in Mansehra on Feb 5 and had tried my best to maintain of peace in the district on the occasion of 12 Rabiul Awwal,” he said and added that later a clash took place in which a man was killed and nine others were injured.Giving further details of the incident, the MPA said that one year ago, a tussle was created between the two groups but he had succeeded in resolving the issue.

He said that the administration had registered FIR against him, however, when he contacted the concerned officials they also admitted his innocence in this regard.

He said that some local influential people were behind the case and he knew the factual position.

Condemning the killing and injuries to innocent people, Mufti Kifayatullah offered further arbitration to remove differences between the two groups.
