ISLAMABAD, Feb 9: The Islamabad Traffic Police on Thursday decided to impound vehicles involved in lane violation at Peshawar Mor Chowk.

The ITP said it conducted a survey to ascertain the reason behind accidents and blockade of traffic at the busy intersection and came to know that vehicles, including public transport, tried to jump from left to the right lane leading to Aiwane Sanat-o-Tijarat Road or G-8.

The motorists going straight faced problems which sometimes resulted in collisions due to lane violations, it added.

The ITP said after the survey it educated the road users as well as public transporters about using their lanes properly. Following this, the legal step of issuing fine tickets was adopted which helped a lot in curbing the practice. However, some public transporters are still involved in lane violation.
