TAXILA, Feb 9:  Hassanabdal Police on Thursday foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics from Peshawar to Hazara and arrested an alleged smuggler.

District Police Officer Dr Akhter Abbass while talking to newsmen said that acting on a tip off, Police launched checking of vehicles at Jehri Kass check post on Hazara Road and during search of a car (RH-904) five kilograms of heroin was recovered from the hidden parts of the vehicle.

One accused named Umer Gull, who was carrying the drugs from Peshawar to Haripur was arrested.

He said a case has been registered against the accused under narcotics law. — Correspondent
