KARACHI, Nov 18: The Saddar town council has approved levying tax on holding functions in marriage halls and hotels within its jurisdiction.

According to an announcement issued on Sunday, the town council also approved a restriction on advance permission for organizing functions in marriage halls and hotels, and cancelled all the previous permissions in this regard.

This decision was taken at a meeting, presided over by speaker Mohammad Wazir Rahbar and attended by the town Nazim Mohammad Farooq Memon and municipal officer Zameer Ahmed Khan.

The meeting also approved fees for parks, playgrounds and holding games and exhibitions.

It decided to create a database about streets, link roads, streetlights, besides approving a monogram for the town.—APP
