ISLAMABAD: Federal government on Monday claimed that it has built consensus with the opposition over passing 20th Constitutional Amendment Bill from the parliament, DawnNews reported.

Speaking with DawnNews, Federal Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said that issues have been resolved with the opposition and the bill would soon be passed by the parliament.

Whereas, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah claimed that the bill would be passed by Wednesday.

Moreover, Shah said that the tenure for Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members has been increased from two to five years. “They will have to take oath now and the same procedure will be followed to dislodge them from their posts as adopted for judges,” he added.
