ATTOCK, Nov 30: The alleged suicide bomber of the International Church attack was laid to rest at Shakirdara village on Friday after eight months of the incident.

Twenty-two-year-old Sarfaraz Khan, son of Faizur Rehman, blew himself up by a remote control bomb at the International Church, Islamabad, on March 17, killing five persons.

According to reports, the team investigating the incident, found a coat hanging in the washroom of the church. This coat, according to witnesses, was worn by the attacker.

The witnesses said the attacker did not leave the church after the incident and was killed in the attack.

According to sources, his body parts were sent to the US for analysis and after his identification, his father Faizur Rehman, mother and brother, Asif, were arrested by the investigation agencies.

They were then released after a detention of about two months. All these activities were kept secret by the law enforcement agencies, the sources said.

After investigations, his body was sent back to Islamabad on Thursday. The body was handed over to the parents the same night amid tight security.

The funeral prayer of Sarfaraz Khan was offered after Friday prayers at the local Eidgah mosque which was attended by many people from different walks of life.

According to villagers, Sarfaraz Khan, an FSc student, had joined a Jehadi organization and went to Afghanistan to participate in the war.
