THIS is apropos of the letter ‘Turbat Girls College in poor state’ (Jan 25) by Mulook Dashti. It is the only girls’ college in the district. Students come here from all over the district.

But the tragedy is that the college does offer main subjects like physics, mathematics, English and economics, while no assistant professors or associate professors have been appointed here.

At least 13 out of 26 posts for teachers are lying vacant. According to a rough estimate, 1,200 students are enrolled in this college. This college does not have hostel facility for students and teachers, who face accommodation problems as enough quarters are not available on rent in the city.

Teaching is a job which needs a relaxed mind. Moreover, this is not the story of the girls’ college only. Boys Degree College is also facing such problems. I request authorities concerned to look into the matter.
