LAHORE, Nov 29: Four sessions were held on the first day of two-day trials which started at the National Hockey Stadium (NHS) Friday to short-list the probables of Pakistan Whites training camp.

All 94 probables of the camp were tested in the four sessions.

On Saturday, the trials will begin at 11am. It is likely that the list of probables will be reduced to 25 or 30 for the second phase of the camp.

The selected team will take part in the three-team NBP League to be held in Lahore and Faisalabad from Dec 20 to 27. Pakistan Greens and Juniors are the two other contestants. The League is being held to finalise a pool of talented players from which best Pakistan Senior, Whites and Juniors teams will be selected for future events.

The selection committee of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) watched the trials.

Chairman of the committee ex-Olympian Akhtar Rasool with members Hasan Sardar, another Olympian, and Salim Nazim and Saeed Khan tested the probables with different combinations.
