Utility store looted

RAWALPINDI, Jan 26: An outlet of Utility Stores Corporation (UTC) located at Tipu Road was looted by three gunmen, police said on Thursday. Nasreen Akhtar, the manager of the UTC outlet reported to Waris Khan police that three persons posing themselves as customers entered her office and pulled out their pistols.

She said the robbers held her, the three store employees and a customer hostage at gunpoint. She said they fetched Rs76,000 from the cash box and escaped after locking them inside.

Meanwhile, a motorbike rider was shot and injured by three robbers who also took away his vehicle and cell phone in Sadar Barooni area.— Staff Reporter
