Windies call up Ganga and Nagamootoo

CHITTAGONG (Bangladesh), Nov 28: West Indies batsman Daren Ganga and leg-spinner Mahendra Nagamootoo were named Thursday in the team for the first of three one-day internationals against Bangladesh on Friday.

Ganga and Nagamootoo replaced Shivnarine Chanderpaul and regular captain Carl Hooper from the side that won the final game of a seven-match one-day series against India last Sunday.

“Shiv took two stitches in the webbing of his right hand after being struck in the field last Sunday and is also unlikely to play in any of the limited-overs internationals in this series,” West Indies manager Ricky Skerritt said.

The limited-overs series concludes with day/night matches at Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Stadium Dec 2-3.
