SUKKUR, Jan 22: A large number of people of Lashari community took out a procession and demonstrated in Jacobabad on Sunday in protest against police.

The procession led by Youth Lashari Ittehad’s Dilawar Lashari marched from Tikundi Bagh to the press club where a demonstration and a sit-in were held.

The protesters told journalists that former SHO of Civil Lines police station Niaz Ahmed Khoso had picked up one Abdul Nabi Lashari 40 days ago and nothing was known about him.

They demanded immediate release of Abdul Nabi and warned of widening their protest if police failed to produce him.

ACCIDENT: A minor boy died when a speeding car hit him near Jacobabad bypass on Sunday.

Zahid Ali, 7, of Aziz Jatoi village was crossing the road when he was seriously injured in the accident.The driver, Ahsan Lashari, a resident of Osta Mohammad (Balochistan), took the boy to a hospital in his car but he died before reaching there.

The body was handed over to relatives and police arrested the driver.
