New envoy to Greece appointed

ISLAMABAD, Nov 28: The government has appointed Habibur Rehman ambassador to the Hellenic Republic of Greece.

Born on July 18, 1950, Mr Rehman holds degrees of M.A. and LL.B. and joined foreign services in 1975.

He has held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad: at Beijing (1979-82, 1983-87 and 1993-96), Budapest (1990-1991) and New Delhi (1991-93).

He has also served at headquarters as section officer (1977, 1982 and 1983), director (1989) and director-general (1997-98).

Prior to his new assignment, Habibur Rehman was serving as ambassador to Kyrgyzstan. — APP
