KARACHI: Pakistan’s dashing all-rounder Shahid Afridi said on Friday that playing for the country was his top priority and he was gearing-up for the four-match One-day Internationals and the three-match T20 series against England, scheduled for next month.

“Playing for Pakistan and giving my best for the country is my foremost priority,” he said on Friday upon his return after playing Big Bash T20 cricket for Melbourne Renegades in Australia.

“Pakistan which gave me name and fame and my preference is always playing for my team and then think about Bangladesh Premier League,” he stressed.

Afridi complimented captain Misbah-ul-Haq and the team for their outstanding victory over world number one England in the first Test in Dubai.

“Pakistan team should go for the kill now and must not relax to gain ascendancy over England in the series,” he commented.—APP
