KARACHI, Jan 18: The ninth UBL Omni Karachi United Football League saw Baloch Youth (Garden) beating Shahzad Mohammadan (Landhi) 3-1 to attain top spot in Group 'A' at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium here on Tuesday evening. Later, power failure caused the match between Mauripur Baloch and Burma Mohammadan (Korangi) to be abandoned with 20 minutes left as Burma Mohmmadan led 2-0.

The first game saw Baloch Youth completely dominating the former KUFL champions Shahzad Mohammadan from the start. A third minute cross from right-back Talal Ayub found Aaqib Ayub, who finished with style to make Baloch Youth go 1-0 up. Sarmad Jaffar then made it 2-0 in the 34th minute when he scored on an Ali Sabir pass from the midfield. Shahzad Mohammadan managed to respond when Fazal Baloch scored from a rebound effort five minutes later to make it 2-1.

Th pace of the match intensified in the second half with Baloch Youth looking for the kill, only to be denied time and again by Shahzad Mohammadan goalkeeper Naveed Baloch. Eventually Saramad Jaffar's pass found Essa Lashari on the right, as he sped forward and smashed in the goal to make it 3-1 in 62nd minute. The goal more or less decided the game as Baloch Youth won three precious points to go up to 13 points from five games in order to top Group 'A', with Shahzad Mohammadan struggling at seven points from six games.

Another Group 'A' game later in the evening saw Burma Mohammadan race to a 2-0 lead against Mauripur Baloch with goals from Mohammad Imran (23rd min) and Noor Ahmed (48th min), but a power failure causing the floodlights to be turn off forced the match to be abandoned with 20 minutes remaining.

The matches were supervised by referees Babar Khan, Shaukat Ali and Chaudhry Sarfaraz with Abdul Karim as the match commissioner.
