CRITICIZED: People from every walk of life have criticized the recent increase in power tariff.

Kissan Board president Nasrullah Wattoo said the increase in power tariff would add to the miseries of the farmers who used electricity to run their tubewells.

PML-N MPA Afzal Sultan Dogar said the government should realize the problems being faced by the general public. He said power rates were already very high, and this increase would not only result in a decline in farm production, but also cause an increase in the prices of industrial products.

Former MNA Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad said increase in power tariff was the first gift of the new government. He demanded early withdrawal of this raise.

PML-QA MNA Saeed Virk said he would raise voice against high power tariff in the coming session of parliament.
