KARACHI, Nov 27: Chief Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad of the Sindh High Court deputed a court bailiff on Wednesday to accompany a petitioner to help recover his detained son from a place known to the father.

According to a habeas corpus petition filed by Col Abdul Waheed Khan (retired), his son, Zubair, was illegally arrested and was being kept in unlawful confinement at the behest of an intelligence agency.

He alleged that according to the agency, another of his sons, Naveedul Hasan, was required for links with an outlawed organization (Harkatul Mujahideen), which carried out explosions at the US consulate in Karachi. When it failed to get hold of Naveed, it apprehended his brother, Zubair, and detained him.

However, he (petitioner Abdul Waheed ) has found out the place of his son’s detention by his own efforts. But if he divulged the address in the open court, the detaining agency would shift him to some other place.
