KARAK, Jan 14: Four persons were killed and as many received serious injuries in different incidents here on Saturday.

In the first incident, a car knocked down two students on Indus Highway near Hafizabad village, killing both of them on the spot. The car overturned after the accident, injuring the driver critically. He also succumbed to his injuries.

The students were identified as Naveed Ahmad and Liaquat Hussain, residents of Lakki Ghundaki village. The driver was identified as AsalMohammad, a resident of Bashirabad, Malakand Agency.

Karak police station registered FIR of the accident.

In the second incident, a 70-year-old man was shot dead in Karak city in broad daylight over an old enmity.

Police said that Muqarab Khan, a resident of Banjakh Banda, was going to a mosque in Karak city when he was attacked by his rivals. He died on the spot.

Mohammad Shafique, nephew of the deceased, lodged an FIR with Karak police station against five accused includingRageebullah, Sanaullah, Saeedullah, Sher Khan and Ajmir Khan. The accused managed to escape after the incident. In another incident, four motorcyclists were injured when their bikes collided head-on near Alikhel village.

They were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Karak where doctors described their condition as critical. The injured were identified as Khurram and Javed, residents of Andaki, and Jamshed and Anwar, both residents of Lawagher Chanikhel. —Correspondent
