QUETTA, Jan 14: A sessions court in Kharan on Saturday freed three Iranian security personnel involved in the killing of a Pakistani national after a compromise application was filed by the relatives of the deceased and Iranian officials.

On Jan 1, the Iranians entered Pakistan and opened fire, killing Saeed Ahmed and injuring Arsalan Gul. Pakistani security forces chased the three Iranians and arrested them.

Sources said that elders in the area and Iranian officials reached a compromise and persuaded the heirs of the deceased to pardon the three suspects. On Saturday, the heirs of Saeed Ahmed appeared before the court headed by Abdur Rashid Umrani and submitted an application pardoning the suspects. The court then ordered the release of three Iranians.
