HYDERABAD, Jan 3: Sindh Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgari has said the government is in the control of the situation and it has come into power with the support of the people.

Talking to reporters at Nara Jail where he inaugurated issuance of computerised national identity cards to the prisoners by a mobile team of the National Database Registration Authority, Nadra, he said that those elements, who are trying to derail democracy and dislodge the PPP government through “memogate” and other conspiracies, are living in a fool’s paradise. He said that memo scandal was based on a piece of paper and the parliament and the supreme court had appointed separate commissions which would probe the matter and cooperate with each other during the course of investigation.

He said the people backing Mansoor Aijaz wanted to create confrontation between the state institutions.

He said Pakistan People’s Party respected judiciary but added that each national institution should work within its own parameters.

Answering a question, he said, PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif had been isolated and keeping in view his performance even his close associates were leaving him. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif was using judiciary and people were fully aware of his designs.

Answering another question about Imran Khan, Mr Bhurgari said that he had been conducting a music show, adding that he should realise that politics was not a one-day (cricket) match. He advised Imran Khan to play match only with novices because each PPP player could hit a sixer.

About Nara jail, he said that the overall situation was satisfactory.
