PESHAWAR, Nov 25: Three persons were killed and one was injured in a shootout over a minor dispute in Badhber locality on Sunday night.

Pervez lodged an FIR with Badhber police station, stating that when he along with his brother Wali Khan went to his fields on Sunday night, four proclaimed offenders — Dad Khan, Qaisar Khan, Nasir Khan and Dilshad — intercepted them.

The POs started a quarrel over a minor issue. In the meantime Pervez’s father, Tehmash Khan and brother Shah Saeed also reached the spot. All of a sudden the POs opened fire. Tehmash and Wali Khan returned the fire. In the cross-fire Tehmash, Wali Khan and a PO Qaisar Khan received bullets and died instantly, while another PO Dad Khan received injuries.

HASHISH SEIZED: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of hashish and arrested a smuggler on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a CID team erected a barricade on the Grand Trunk Road near Sardar Ghari. A Suzuki car (Mardan-A 6928) appeared from the Peshawar side. During the search, 240kg of hashish was recovered from the car.

The registration of car was also found to be fake. The accused, Hanifullah, was arrested.
