MIRPURKHAS, Nov 25: Flour made from wheat infested with insects is being sold by the flour mills of the town.

The government had announced a special Ramazan package to provide quality flour to the people on subsidized rates.

The wheat stored in the godowns of the food department had been infested with insects as a result of which it had gone bad.

However, the food department, instead of throwing the wheat away, was providing it to the Chakkies, which in turn were selling it to the public.

The president, Chakki Association, Mirpurkhas Taluka, Haji Noor Mohammad, and its joint secretary, Abdul Hameed, admitted that the food department was providing damaged wheat to the Chakki owners who were then selling it to the public after processing it into flour.
