LAHORE, Nov 24: A three-day international conference on construction industry and a construction show will be held here from Jan 21 to invigorate the dormant construction sector in the country and attract local and foreign investment for it.

The conference is being organized by the National Highways Authority and the Punjab Communications and Works Department in association with the Asian Development Bank and the Punjab Buildings and Highways Engineers Welfare Association with a view to giving a boost to the construction industry, which alone has a potential to provide jobs to over five million people.

About a dozen technical papers will be read at the conference by local and foreign construction industry experts.

The construction show will be held at the Punjab Institute of Material Testing and Road Research near the Punjab University New Campus. A large number of construction materials’ manufacturers and vendors will display their products at the show.
