Huge cache of arms seized

QUETTA, Nov 23: Zhob militia has foiled a bid to smuggle arms, ammunition and explosives into Pakistan from Afghanistan near Pakistan-Afghan border and arrested a man.

Militia Commandant Col Javed Iqbal Lodhi told Dawn on Saturday the cache was seized by intercepting a truck near Grad-i-Babar area, some 30km south of Zhob. After an exchange of fire the gunrunners escaped leaving behind 370kg of explosive material, 574 secondary rocket launchers, 211 rockets of 40mm, 75mm AR 20, bombs 52, artillery canon shells 216, RPG shells 345, SMGs 10, light machine gun one, RPG-7 one, wireless sets 14 and launcher roles 5.
