KARACHI, Dec 23: A suspected bandit was killed in what was described as a police encounter within the remit of the Malir Cantt police station in the early hours of Friday.

Police said that three suspects were robbing occupants of a car on the Gulistan-i-Jauhar link road when a police patrol reached there and challenged the robbers. In an exchange of gunfire that ensued, a suspected bandit was killed while two of his accomplices managed to escape.

The suspect was identified as Ali Sher, a resident of Muzaffargarh district, and a TT pistol was recovered from his possession, they added.—Staff Reporter
