LAHORE, Nov 22: Six people, including a suckling, were murdered in different parts of the city on Friday.

Naureen allegedly slaughtered her suckling Sheraz (2) at her house in Sector-A-2 of Township. Police took the alleged killer into custody.

Her husband Mumtaz, a driver by profession, told the police that he was away and the other two children were in school when the incident took place. He claimed his wife had had fits. “She had also tried to kill children in the past,” he alleged.

Her cousin Latif Chishti, however, said she was upset over her husband’s attitude towards her.

The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. A case was registered against the arrested woman.

Pervaiz, 16, a waiter, was stabbed to death by a colleague at a Lower Mall hotel.

The police said the two boys had a dispute over a petty issue some days ago.

The body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy. A case was registered with no arrest.

Imtiaz, a resident of Lakhoder in Manawan, told police he woke up to gunshots on Thursday and found his father, Rafiq, 65, dead. He had been shot in the chest.

He claimed his father was killed by robbers when he put up resistance when they tried to take away cattle-heads. However, the police said they were investigating a motive behind the murder.

Jameel, 35, was shot dead over an old enmity at Rangeelpur in Mangamandi.

Rasheed told the police he had an old enmity with Khadim and Shafiq. He said he along with his son-in-law Jameel was on his way home when rivals opened fire. Jameel sustained serious injuries and died on way to hospital. His body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. A case was registered with no arrest.

Rasheed told the police his son, Tanveer, alias Pomi, 24, was shot dead by unidentified men in the Tibbi City.

He said his son had exchanged harsh words with some people a few days ago. The body was removed to the mortuary. No case was registered.

A woman, about 26, unidentified so far, was found dead in a canal in Burki. The police said she had been shot in the head.
