SAHIWAL, Nov 22: The Punjab government has stopped tehsil Nazimeen from imposing any new toll in their areas and abolished all such taxes already imposed.

Through an order, district coordination officers have been directed that under the Punjab Local Government rule-90, tehsil Nazimeen or tehsil municipal administrations are not empowered to impose new tolls.

CASE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has registered a case against two revenue patwaris and a clerk of the tehsildar office on embezzlement charges.

Patwaris Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Yaqoob embezzled an amount of Rs134,000 collected as fee for land transfer from farmers of Jahana Saghla with the connivance of a clerk, Asif.

The ACE conducted an inquiry on the orders of the district coordination officer and found these officials guilty.
