KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), chief Altaf Hussain has said that his party wants to introduce a system in Pakistan that gives equal rights to the rich and the poor, ensures equality before law and pledges dignity to the poor and the rich people alike.

He said this while talking to the members of his party's Zonal Committee of Multan, APMSO, Provincial Organisational Committee of Punjab and Women Wing, Social Forum and party officials of various districts and towns of Punjab.

The Members of the MQM Rabita Committee were also present on the occasion, said a statement issued by MQM on Friday.

Altaf Hussain was informed about the preparations underway in connection with his party's public meeting in Multan on December 23, who praised the workers for holding a big rally.

He said that the efforts being made by the workers were commendable and hoped that the public meeting in Multan would be historic.

He said that the land of Multan was the land of sufis and saints and the message of his party would spread in Multan making it a stronghold of the MQM in due course of time.

Altaf Hussain particularly commended the workers of APMSO and the Social Forum for their strenuous efforts and hoped that the APMSO would ensure participation of a large number of students in the public meeting on December 23.

He appreciated the medical camp put up by MQM for the poor people and said that serving the humanity was the essence of the struggle of his party.
