NEW DELHI: India’s inconsistent performance saw them being held to a 1-1 draw by a spirited Afghanistan side at the SAFF Championship taking place in New Delhi, India.

Afghanistan opened the scoring through Balal Arezo in the fourth minute but India’s Sunil Chhetri equalized for the hosts six minutes later.

Afghanistan proved to be troublesome for India throughout the game and the lack of finishing on the part of the hosts did not help their score line.

India  had a very good chance of sealing the winner in the second half but Chhetri sent his shot off Lawence’s cross sailing wide.
