PESHAWAR, Nov 27: Widespread condemnation of Nato helicopters attack on a checkpost in Mohmand Agency continued on Sunday as various political parties expressed anguish over the killing of soldiers and termed it an attack on the sovereignty of Pakistan.

The Jamaat-i-Islami provincial chapter staged a protest demonstration on Charsadda Road to condemn the aggression of Nato forces. The protesters were led by provincial secretary information Israrullah advocate and district general secretary Hamdullah Jan.

The protesters holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the US also chanted slogans against the Nato forces.

Addressing the protesters, Israrullah advocate said the Nato forces had violated the United Nations charter and international law by attacking the Pakistani checkposts in Salala area of Mohmand Agency.

He demanded of the government and army to give tit for tat response to the aggression of Nato forces. He also demanded of the government to impose permanent ban on the supply for Nato forces to teach a lesson to them.

He warned the government that if it failed to take steps for the security of the country then the masses would rise up against it.

Provincial chief of Pakistan People Party Senator Sardar Ali Khan also condemned the killing of Pakistani soldiers in the Nato attack in Mohmand.

According to a press release he termed the killing of soldiers an attack on the sovereignty of Pakistan. He said such incidents would not be tolerated and no compromise would be made on the country’s sovereignty.

He also extended his condolences with the families of the fallen soldiers.

Meanwhile, provincial chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Q MNA Ameer Muqam also condemned the Nato attack and demanded of the government to review its foreign policy ‘in the best interest of the country’.

He expressed these views at a press conference held at his residence here. He said the government should make efforts to stop relying on the funds coming from abroad.

The press conference was also attended by MPA Rushad Khan and MPAs Fazlullah Khan, Ghulam Mohammad and Nighat Orakzai.

TIMERGARA: Sultankhel and Paindakhel tribes of Lower Dir on Sunday demanded of the US and Nato forces to hand them over 39 Americans for execution as revenge for killing of 39 Pakistani army men during a Nato air strike.

Speaking at a news conference at the Timergara press club elders of both the tribes led by former nazim Sikandar Hazrat condemned the Nato attack on the Pakistani soldiers and termed it an act of terrorism.

They demanded of the government to immediately expel American ambassador from the country and sever diplomatic ties with Washington. The tribal elders vowed to launch a massive campaign against the US and Nato forces in the region and prepare youth to fighting against the foreign forces.
