LAHORE: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Saturday that the moon of Moharramul Harram 1433 AD was sighted in the country and the Ashura would fall on December 6 (Tuesday).

The meeting of Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee for sighting the moon of Muharram-ul-Haram was presided over by its Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman held at Aiwan-i-Auqaf here this evening.

Addressing the media, the chairman said the moon was not sighted in Lahore, however, evidences of moon sighting received from other cities, including Islamabad, Jhelum and other areas. Ashura (10th Moharramul Harram) will be observed on December 6 (Tuesday).
