Published November 19, 2002

LAHORE, Nov 18: Teachers and students, under the banner of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), continued on Monday their protest against the constitution of board of governors in educational institutions and hospitals and the Model University Ordinance.

They boycotted the classes for half-an-hour from 11am and also took protest processions from MAO College, Shalamar College, Dyal Singh College, Railway Road and Civil Lines Islamia colleges besides the FC College.

They were chanting slogans against the BoG and the ordinance and victimization of teachers, students and doctors.

They also condemned police for harassing students and their parents.

Meanwhile, JAC leader Nazim Hasnain said the protest demonstration outside the Dayal Singh College on Nov 20 would compel the government to withdraw its anti-health and education policies.
