LAHORE, Nov 21: Those who want to join fashionista may have an opportunity to groom their skills at the newly-launched International Fashion Academy, Pakistan (IFAP).
Fashion Model Mehreen Syed announced the launch of the IFAP at a press conference at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club on Monday.
The fashion entrepreneur says she is sure about the success of the academy.
“What is very heart warming is that our institution is supported by some of the biggest names of the industry today, along with the brightest stars of tomorrow,” she said.
The IFAP will open a series of branches across the country, with its first branch now open in Lahore.
“Today, therefore, I am very proud to have introduced IFAP which to me represents the start of a platform to better the Pakistani fashion industry,” she said, adding during her career, she had felt many times how helpful it would have been to have proper professional training and grooming.
“I believe there are many others like myself in various fields of fashion who could benefit from such training.”
She aims to make fashion, makeup, grooming, photography and modelling lucrative careers for the trained people.
According to a press release, a private training institute, the IFAP plans to provide training and resource programmes which are: grooming academy, photography academy, make-up academy and modelling academy.
The courses offered are: runway coaching, photo shoot direction, health and wellness, acting essentials, hair and skin care and speech enhancement.
With industry stalwarts such as Shahzad Raza as the head of faculty and Hasan Sheheryar Yasin as the head of visiting faculty, the academy has garnered a diversity of permanent and visiting faculty consisting of leading names from the fashion, media and entertainment industries such as Umar Sayeed, Deepak Perwani, Nickie Nina, Kamiar Rokni, Mehdi, Nomi Ansari, Iman Ali, Saba Ansari, Iffat Umer, Hamza Tarar, Nael Ahmad, Emmad Irfani, Nadia Husain, Shammal Qureshi, Redah Misbah, Juggan Kazim, Sabina Pasha, Asmaa Mumtaz, Yasir Nisar and Dr Haroon Nabi. Courses at the IFAP span between a series of weeks and months.
